We have a network of trained and accredited assessors across the UK who can assess your property and complete an On-Construction / SAP EPC (Standard Assessment Procedure).
On-Construction or SAP EPC was developed by BRE to assess how much energy a new dwelling will consume based on standardised assumptions for occupancy and behaviour. The report will work out the potential fuel costs and emissions for carbon dioxide and is required as part of the Building Regulations completion for new homes.
Our energy assessors use architects’ plans and specifications to determine the energy related features and will record key features such as the U-values of walls/roofs/floors/glazing, thermal bridging details, ventilation system, dimensions, space and water heating systems, low energy lighting and air pressure test results. These figures are then entered into a computer program which uses a calculation model known as the SAP.
SAP ratings are scored on a scale from 1 to 100 where 1 is the worst and 100 indicates no net cost for water and heating. SAP is based on the energy costs associated with space heating, water heating, ventilation and lighting, less any cost saved from energy generating technologies (e.g. photovoltaics or wind turbines).
